Sigur Rós Spreads Some Holiday Cheer

Icelanders have gotten a bit of a reputation for being shy with people they don’t know. We swear it’s not true.

  1. I think the interviewer did a pretty bad job on this, could’ve been a whole lot better if he were a bit informed. Half of the lyrics is beautiful Icelandic (which don’t always make much sense, but I guess that’s art ;)) and he just calls it all Vonlenska?

Luckily he didn’t pull the elves in, that would have been really disasterous.

Leaves me with nothing else than to spray some more holiday cheer and say Gleðileg Jól og farsælt komandi ár :)

  3. What a bad interview, seemed something like a boring psychoanalysis session (the interviewer´s voice, intonation, everything!!) The worst thing I´ve seen, honestly. and it DOES portray Icelanders as not just shy people, but also highly introverted good-for-nothing nerds! WHich is obviosly not true, just the questions didn’t allow them to express themselves: Did you start making THAT kind of music at the very beginning? - Why don’t you listen to their first records and ask: “Your early carrier seems to be very different/similar to what you do now. Why?” Or smth. so bossy.

  4. it’s quite a funny clips in a toe-curling sort of way. but it’s not really fair to say it portrays Icelanders in any kind of way at all, just as, let’s face it, it does’t portray North Americans in any kind of way either…….. (pause for thought)……..but let’s face it the guy’s comments/questions are SO dull, inane, stoopid, they get exactly the answers they deserve.
