Ok, we’ll admit that these three cute little sisters from Seattle had an unfair advantage. Who could fault three kids flying to Iceland to play in front of hundreds of wannabe Vikings? They had an unfair advantage from the start, but the real surprise was how great they turned out to be! Asy, Chloe, and Maia offer up catchy electro-pop songs with the playfulness and innocence that more experienced musicians spend years trying to achieve.
It would be easy to write off their sound as the pleasant coincidence of childish energy blending with a bit of musical talent, but that would be to sell these girls short. There is no denying that these girls have whatever it is that makes artists great. A Smoosh show is one of those musical experiences, like watching a video of Stevie Ray Vaughn or re-listening to old Springsteen, where you walk away thinking, “damn, I will probably never be that good.”
